Water

Water is essential, and especially clean water. With this in mind, water is considered as an essential resource, and will therefore be affordable when acquiring water from KPW. There will be two sources. The first is from a well which will be likely in rural communities that would have a water well on the property. All wells must have a cap on it to prevent intrusions of wildlife, and other things that can ruin the water supply. The owner is responsible for providing filtration, and cleaning solutions which will likely be located in the basement of the house.

The second is through pipelines that will be owned an managed by KPW. The water would go from the treatment center to the residence. If there are any lead pipes from previous infrastructure, they will need to be replaced immediately. When water comes into the property, it will be required to enter through a water room which is where the tankless water system, and pipe manifolds. This will be NSC requirement for this design. New construction, and renovations will be required to meet up with this code rather than a trunk/branch system that most copper pipes will be. More information on the pipelines themselves while in the homes can be found at NSC Building – Water requirements.
